The Meiko's Ascendance picture calls the red haired woman Lady Kurogane. That same Kurogane is mentioned on the book announcement as a protector of the mountain. It's also mentioned there are three woman at the foot of the mountain coming to a village, presumably the ones in The Three. This predator is one of The Three, meaning she is an attacker of the mountain Lady Kurogane is meant to protect.
