Chemically, it does make sense for the slime; water does dilute acids making them less corrosive. And if the slime’s outer surface layer can dilute her stomach’s acid and rejuvenate itself at a faster rate than her stomach can produce its acid, then - in theory - the slime would be acid-resistant.
