Welp, another big (8 month) gap between chapters, guess that's just how it goes for this series. But I hope you'll at least be happy to know that it is ongoing.

This one was has a bit of something special in it. I usually make it a point in my stories to avoid inventing new creatures. I usually find it more effective to take advantage of my readers' existing knowledge and feelings about some species, save the explanations, and just get on with the story. But in this case, I needed a create with very specific traits, and I couldn't really think of one that would fit, so... melm.

And yes, before you say anything, it is supposed to be "melm", not "mlem". That's part of the joke. While it does walk around with a constant mlem, "melm" is much closer to the sound imagine it making.
