A new creature arrives from the shaded woods of Farro.

Azalians are among the few "children" of the fallen Ancient Azali and are one of the threats within Shadowclaw Forest on Farro. Unfortunately, there’s not much information about Azalians except a few things.


The first discovery of the Azalian was when some settlers tried to make a village in Shadowclaw, ignoring the warnings given to them by the Bani. It resulted in the death of 90% of the colonizers, who got ambushed, devoured, or taken away by various entities, one of them being an Azalian, while the 5% who were gathering supplies managed to survive. This event led to Shadowclaw Forest becoming a restricted area, though poachers and adventurers still risked their lives to enter the forest.


Studies on dead Azalians reveal that they have no tongue or teeth. Instead, they have prong-shaped protrusions which help make it difficult for their prey to escape. It also shows that the Azalians have strong muscles, and it’s theorized that they can eat a Ditari by crushing its exoskeleton. Although, that’s just a theory.


Being the so-called children of the fallen Ancient, Azalians have the unique ability to merge and move through shadows, using them to hunt their quarry. The only known prey that Azalian eats, among other things, are giant slugs, grubs, Thrallardons, Squamataurs, Chilotaurs, and Slug Girls. Although they can eat other creatures like Humans, Nekos, and Banis, scholars presume that Azalians prefer to eat things bigger so they don’t have to waste their energy.


As of yet, none knows if an Azalian was brought to Felarya by poachers. But rumors circled on the streets and taverns telling of a creature who moves through the shadows.
