I finally managed to draw the Thrallardon, which I couldn't finish in 2020/2019. I didn't have smooth sailing on this one. I made the PSD file in 2022 and didn't do anything until I watched a Stream on Twitch hosted by CultistZolon.
Info
Thrallardons are one of the largest therapods on Farro, with various diversity and mystery. From the blackened forest of Shadowclaw, the hazed jungles of Mistfall, and the barren lands of Darthscar, Thrallardons have adapted and changed from these environments they call home into specialized hunters.
The common Thrallardon that travelers meet in Darthscar is the Couréud Thrallardon, a sub-species thought to be evolved from the Chassbue Thrallardon from Shadowclaw. Couréud Thrallardons have adapted for a life of speed, running at 85-138 km/h, using their strong jaws to take larger prey down while devouring smaller prey whole.
Chassbue Thrallardons are adapted to hunt via stealth and ambush their prey, though no one knows how they managed it. Some believe they have a venom that they deliver through their bite, while others think that their serrated teeth help the Chassbue Thrallardons hunt their prey without wasting energy.
Dansunie Thrallardon are the rarest of the Thrallardon species. Living Mistfall, these Thrallardons have adapted to hunting prey on land and water. Apart from the Chassbue, the Dansunie Thrallardons are the most difficult to research and have been covered with theories and misinformation.
Unlike the Taronasarus and Cinisraptor, only the Thrallardons females care for the young, which can be a litter of two to three. The Couréud and Chassbue Thrallardons make their nest by digging a pit before laying their eggs and burying them under a layer of dirt. While buried, the mother will often give out noises near the nest. It's presumed that she does this so the hatchlings can imprint on her sound before they hatch. Once they hatch from their eggs and before they reach maturity, the hatchlings will be dependent on their mother for food and shelter.
Due to the action of poachers, Thrallardons have been brought to Felarya. Thankfully, the Thrallardons population has been categorized into only a few. The reason is likely because the Thrallardons brought to Felarya are Chassbue, indicated by the feathers on their neck and the down on their back. Researchers are thrilled to travel to Felarya to study the Chassbue and their adaptation to their new home.
