In the magical world, in which teary fails take place in, the enigmatic entities known as fairies (also called tearies, as they tear down large mountains just as effectively as their teardown of our conceptual understanding of fairy tales.) shall finally be elaborated on. Fairies/Tearies are seen by almost no human ever. The common belief is that this is because they're too small. In actuality they are too large to be seen. When looking into their green, menacing eyes, you might aswell be watching the reflections in a lake. When watching the waves of her yellow-green dress unfold, one might aswell see grassland hills unfold beneath the horizon.
Seeing the reflection in a fairy's long hair, might aswell appear as a star shining through dark nebulae.
Fairies are also believed to wield magic. That's nonsense of course. This odd illusion usually happens, due to whenever a fairy does perceive puny mortals and talks about her being magical and warping the patterns of reality, most people would be too afraid to try to prove a lady of that size wrong. As to most lifeforms it is easier to fool oneself then to fool the other, the human brain naturally adapted to perceive a fairy's tricks as "real". This made humans after centuries of evolution very effective at "playing along" when a giggling fairy said she just turned the human's cows into chocolate, thus resulting in humans being the most common species in the Teary fail universe.
Fairies/Tearies have perhaps the greatest variety in their eating behaviour. Like princesses they enjoy dragons as a delicacy. However they rarely find one, which is why most fairies eat castles (or in fairish: "cake")
Cakes/castles disappear quite often, leaving only two smiling huge lips for travelling merchants to see.
