It's pretty neat, the idea of something devouring whole planets, even if the physics of it would be uh... pretty complicated :D One bit of critique i'll mention is that you used the word 'massive' an awful lot, it started to sting a bit after the first few times.

hmmm...well you are right, there seems to be no intelligent being on that planet earth. What? i live on that planet? well...woops! Like the idea. an apocolyse of sorts it seems!
If the Earth were to be destroyed, then let it be swallowed whole and digested, I say.

A world full of life and love of billions of people, now just a bulge and a belch to a galactic dragon. Wonderful short story. I remember Salamander's pic as well.^^
It was one of my favorites. I see it as the ultimate micro and macro vore.

I've been a fan of those pictures for ages, and I'm glad to see a faithful interpretation of it in words. Excellent work :)
