This is a commissioned work done by IDKURA on deviantart.com: http://idkura.deviantart.com

This is a scene done in Disney™ style from the story In The Belly Of The Beast, in which David meets Galya for the first time. David lives with his slug-girl wife named Felecia in an enchanted homestead within the Howling Forest. To celebrate their fifth anniversary together, he wanted to do something special and unforgettable for Felecia. So he spoke with Stephandra, the ancient dryad who inhabits the forest and protects the homestead from harm. As mysterious as always, she sent him to a place outside the forest - a rocky outcropping with a stone tree atop it - to speak with a stranger who could help him with his anniversary gift. Not quite sure what to expect, David did as he was told. When a giant fire naga showed up, he was somewhat taken aback. Nonetheless, the the human and giant naga feel into an easy, if slightly teasing friendship right from the start. Galya is quite the actress when she wants to be and this particular moment occurs just after David admits he is a little frigtened by the situation he finds himself in (which has more to do with his wife than with Galya).

I've written two stories thus far involving Galya: In The Belly Of The Beast and Galya's Portal Problems.

If David were a Felaryan census worker:

*Whips out pen and pad*

"Let's see, where are you here on the scary meter? Hmmm..."

-----------------
Are you a giant/ess?
Have you ever eaten anyone? *
Are you aggressive?
Voracious?
Given to blackouts? If so is your belly full when you come back to your senses?
(not to be asked of interviewee; to be filled out by census worker) Did I walk away from this still alive?

*If so, explain why.
They threatened the safety of the tribe. Or got caught pilfering ancient ruins.
-----------------

(To Galya) "Hmmm. So.. are you THAT scary? Well, *diplomatic face on* not THAT scary. We could put you down as... likeable."

*speaks to census workers in truck IN CHINESE on the way back* "Hey guys... hide the fucking treasure chest we snagged from the ruins up north... do it now..."

Hehe, I cannot imagine the pay and perks required to get someone to accept a job as a census worker on Felarya. One little detail about language barriers - they don't exist on Felarya. If you read the wiki, there was an incredibly powerful translation spell cast in ancient times that affects pretty much the whole world. It actually causes problems for people who are deliberately trying to hide/obfuscate their messages.

Oh and Galya loves to claim she's voracious, even though she's not. Peer pressure is hell among giant predators!

IDKUR is now on my watch list. This is fan-freakin'-tastic! As soon as you see it you know it's done in Disney style. The coloring job is also unbelievable. I can't even begin to imagine how much time this took.

I love the character build up, too. She's huge and powerful, yet concerned about what others think of her. A very likable character.

Woops, I meant IDKURA. I did a copy and paste of that name. I don't know how it got screwed up.

He really does some amazing work. He's also working on an animation piece that he's posted bits and pieces of over the months. That's going to be something else when it's finally done. On the plus side of all this, I have several commissions in his queue - so expect to see more in the future.
