DOWNLOAD .blend ("Adventure Clone (Beta) 2.49b testing" only): http://aryion.com/content/imaginaryzs-junk
(Requires Blender 2.49b: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/ )
This is a old (2008 old) project I've fiddle with for a long time; It was broken years ago because of a blender version change that killed the code; I recently tried fixing it, most of it works now.
It was intended to be a clone of "Adventure" by Warren Robinett (http://www.warrenrobinett.com/adventure/) that Atari published for the Atari 2600.
Obviously I intended to make a lot of tweaks; but the proportions are similar. As it stands, all you can do is get eaten, and fall off the map forever.
I've replaced this project with another; but I uploaded the file to the downloads section so you can mess with it. If you improve it or want to help me make it more powerful/better, let me know.
The controls are:
W = forward
S = backward
A = left
D = right
E = "jump"
Mouse motion = control camera
Mouse Scroll Bar = zoom camera
If you zoom in all the way, you get first person. If you zoom out all the way, the camera becomes "constrained" if grabbed.
To play this game requires Blender 2.49b. You must have it installed/unzipped, then simply load the .blend file, and go to Game -> Start Game to play. Escape will quit instantly.

Ooohh... Is this that Lizard platformer game you talked about in one of your blogs? The platformer where you were a lizard? I'll try it out!

Astounding work. I don't know how to work with this software but the only issue I faced was the glitchy movement of the camera, although that might be related to the six-year outdated processing speed of my desktop, as the whole program was a little slow. Otherwise on the whole, it's really cool!

i was fooling around with this yesterday, and i found the different colored dragons in the "textures" folder, so question: how can you get those dragons in the "game," even if it is only changing the color of the current dragon? getting tired of the simple green one, should be possible, right?

I can't seem to get it to work. Could you possibly send a link to the blender you're using? When I start the game, the blend only shows the health bar and the maze, nothing else. I can't use any of the controls (not even zoom in/out), so I'm assuming I need an older version of blender.

Nevermind. Found out how to download older versions.
