It's not like she really had a choice as far as it was concerned. Tammy had to keep the job, if she lost it then she would have trouble supporting herself. Her job was not ideal, but it paid a good amount, if Tammy could deal with the terrible management.
Tammy worked for a company that had something to do with manufacturing clothes, or something. Tammy couldn't really comprehend how her making charts that seemed to have almost nothing to do with clothes, sales, or money at all could possibly help the company. She wasn't sure if anyone could. The company was huge, disorganized, and looked like it shouldn't be surviving. The group she worked in was poorly organized, and many people just didn't submit the work they were supposed to. Somehow, they didn't get fired.
Not Tammy, however. Tammy's boss had taken an instant dislike to her. Tammy personally thought it was because her boss was jealous, Tammy was a slightly vain 24 year old woman, with long reddish blonde hair, whereas her boss was a thin, pinched woman with short black hair who wasn't that much older than Tammy. The real reason her boss disliked her was more fear of being replaced, but Tammy had no way of knowing that.
From the first day she arrived, Tammy had had to work exceptionally hard to meet all of the deadlines given to her. Many other workers had openly flouted the deadlines, and because the department was in such a mess, nobody noticed. Tammy worked religiously, never missing a single deadline, but still the lazy workers got promoted, and Tammy didn't.
The pay was generous, promotion was not necessary, but Tammy seethed everytime she saw someone whom she knew had missed a project getting promoted while she, who usually ended up having to do the project, remained in an entry-level position. Tammy had resolved to work extra hard, but it almost seemed as if the more work she did, the more work she had to do.
Tammy started off her Friday badly, waking up and thinking it was Saturday. When she realized it wasn't, she got up angrily and got ready for work. After taking a shower and carefully combing her hair, of which she was inordinately proud, Tammy dressed herself up in a business type suit, which wasn't strictly necessary but she hoped would make a good impression. Skipping breakfast as she usually did, Tammy brushed her teeth poorly, eating a breath mint to make up for it.
Tammy got into her small, cheap, and second-hand car. Humming tunelessly to herself, she turned on the radio to give herself a tune. Tammy started the car, and began the half hour drive to her job.
When Tammy arrived, she was pleased to find that she was early, which was always a bonus. "Now I at least won't be late..." Tammy thought as she walked into the building, going to her cubicle to start work. Tammy moved slowly, so that by the time she reached her cubicle she was just on time. She was not surprised to see her boss watching her cubicle, and couldn't help but feel triumphant as her boss visibly slumped, seeing Tammy was on time.
Her computer had barely started up when Tammy's boss walked into her cubicle. "Did you finish the last graph I told you to make yet? You're holding our entire department up while we wait for you, you know." Her boss said sharply, "And if you're not too busy sitting around idly, I have more work for you."
"I did the graph-" Tammy began, having finished it two days before her boss had told her to.
"It couldn't have been much more late, but at least it's done." Her boss grumbled before setting a large thick packet that couldn't have been less than fifty pages down on her desk. "This contains relevant information that you need to make a chart of. I think I'll want it by Monday, early Monday. No later will be tolerated."
Tammy didn't even bother to argue that she already had four projects and one more graph to make, all of which would be due early next week. She knew her boss too well already. With a sniff at her lack of complaint, Tammy's boss walked out of the cubicle. Sighing at the amount of work, which threatened to heavily bog her up the rest of the day and doubtlessly the weekend too, Tammy set to work on the projects she already had.
By the time it was lunch, Tammy had almost finished one of her projects, and the graph was at least a third done. However, she still had the other three projects, and her new huge packet. Skipping lunch, Tammy worked hard the rest of the day. Ignoring the growls of her stomach, she kept at her projects relentlessly. Any time her boss lept into her cubicle, obviously hoping to find her idle, Tammy was working hard on one of her projects. By the end of the day, Tammy was pleased to have completed the graph, and two of her projects.
Tammy was just packing up to leave, as it was already 10:07, far overtime, when her boss walked in, smiling maliciously. "I notice you've been working very hard today, Tammy." Her boss said in a voice dripping with fake, zero calorie sugar. Tammy remained silent, packing up and almost ignoring her boss, only giving a slight pause when her boss began speaking to indicate she was listening. When she failed to get a response again, Tammy's boss continued speaking, "I'm afraid that this hasn't been enough, though. We have more projects on tap, and I'm going to have to call you in on Saturday."
Tammy shot bolt upright, although she tried to act as though the news hadn't startled her. Her boss, laughing a little at her reaction, seemed pleased. "Oh, and don't make any plans for Sunday, either!" Her boss said, her voice just barely betraying her glee, "We might need you then too. Well, have a good weekend!" she said sarcastically, "That is, if you don't have to spend it here!" Feigning a coughing fit to cover her laughter, Tammy's boss walked out of the cubicle.
"WHAT?" Tammy said, hopefully not loud enough for her boss to hear, "I have to work the whole WEEKEND? That's outrageous! MORE PROJECTS? As if I don't have enough as it is!" Then Tammy thought about how satisfied her boss would be if Tammy didn't show up, and there was now an excuse to fire her. Thinking about this hardened her rage into a firm resolve. "No matter how angry I get," Tammy vowed, "I will succeed in this job."
Having made this decisive oath, Tammy packed up and drove home in considerably higher spirits. She went to sleep promptly, hoping to maximize her rest.
The next day was Saturday, and luckily Tammy woke up thinking it was a Friday. Already in the mindset of work, Tammy quickly prepared herself, wearing a more casual black top and blue and black skirt. After getting ready, Tammy had time to eat a small breakfast to appease her growling stomach, which had had nothing to eat at all the past day. Hurrying to her car, Tammy felt that she would at least be on time as she drove quickly to work. A few times, Tammy broke the speed limit, but no one noticed her and she made it to work unhindered.
Tammy half ran to her cubicle, getting there early, and even flashing a triumphant grin at her boss, who was again watching, as she walked in. Unfortunately for her, not too many other people appeared to be working on the weekend, giving her boss more time to focus on her.
"Well? Have you finished all your work yet? I've got a lot more to give you, and I want this all by Monday too." Tammy's boss said, smiling once again as she gave Tammy a few more projects. "If you don't get any of this done on time, we're going to have a problem. You're already dragging us behind with your sloth."
With a sigh, Tammy started work on her old and new projects alike. To her displeasure, however, her boss decided to sit behind her and watch as she worked. This had the averse affect of making Tammy flustered, and she made a lot less progress than usual.
When it was time for lunch, Tammy's boss left. Breathing with relief, Tammy decided to finally look at the huge packet she had been given. "I have to get this done sooner or later," Tammy thought, "And with my boss hanging around, sooner is definitely better than later." When Tammy opened the packet, she thought she was going to die.
The packet wasn't a solid page of text, although that would have been bad enough. Instead, it was page after page after page of hyperlinks in a miniscule font. Each one was long and difficult to type, with the text so small she could barely read it. Flipping through the rest of the packet, Tammy confirmed that she would have to spend a great deal of time finishing this assignment.
Quickly, hoping to take a look before her boss got back, Tammy entered the first hyperlink. It took her a few minutes, because she could barely read it, it was very long, and the stupid thing had absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. When the website popped up, Tammy thought she was going to die all over again.
Raw data. Lots of it. Pages and pages of it, just statistics and information and data collected by various organizations and her company itself. Compounded into one huge document. That was the first link, not even a drop in the bucket compaired to the huge packet.
"This is going to take forever! I can't do this! But I also can't be fired." Tammy said thoughtfully, "Is there absolutely no way this can work?" Tammy's stomach growled again, reminding her that one small breakfast could not last her a whole day. Tammy rubbed her stomach thoughtfully as her boss came back into the room.
"Why would you even take a break when you have so much to be doing?" Tammy's boss started out. Then she noticed the packet, lying open on the desk, and the website. "Ah, I see you've opened my little packet. I made it myself, you know. Probably one of the best things I ever did." Her boss laughed aloud, pleased with her malicious plan. "That's one of the shorter sites you're on now, it will take you a while to finish the rest of them. Get going."
Tammy ignored the huge packet and her boss, choosing instead to start on one of the smaller projects that she felt she could finish. She didn't manage, mostly because her boss had decided to pick up the huge packet and rifle through it loudly, reminding Tammy of the huge amount of work she still had. By the end of the day, Tammy had barely made it through another project, having far too many left to possibly finish.
Tammy's boss took the time to glorify in Tammy's misery. As Tammy hung her head wearily, overwhelmed by the amount of work, her boss started up again. "Well, you can't rest now. You have far too much to do. If you can't manage this, I'm afraid we're going to have to let you go. I always knew you were a bad worker. Thanks for proving me right. Anyone can do a much better job than you, so you had better finish that up if you want to keep your job."
When Tammy just sat there, her boss continued "Well, didn't you hear me? If you don't work, you're not going to finish. Work, you lazy bum!"
Tammy still felt overwhelmed by her work, but now she was feeling overwhelmed by something else. Hunger. Long emptied, Tammy's stomach was rumbling loudly, so loudly in fact that Tammy was pleased when her boss had to raise her voice to talk over it.
"And you have to come in for work on Sunday, too, and I will have more work for you then!" Tammy's boss said loudly and triumphantly, "Don't think you can take it? Then don't bother to show up! We don't want you here anyway..."
"I will succeed in this job, whatever it takes." Tammy repeated under her breath to herself, "And right now, I think I need to get rid of a distraction." Tammy rubbed her stomach a little more, "Make that two distractions."
"You can't leave now, it's too early!" Tammy's boss gloated as she saw Tammy stand up, "Sit down and work, girl. You're not going to finish, but you could at least make an effort."
Tammy ignored her boss, and simply pulled off her jacket. Smiling as her boss looked at her in confusion, Tammy slowly walked over to her boss. Grabbing her boss's head firmly, Tammy opened her mouth wide and shoved it in.
Tammy's boss predictably began struggling instantly, and Tammy for a second felt like she was going to throw up. "Anything to succeed." Tammy thought as she swallowed, grabbing her boss's arms and swallowing them up. Her stomach still feeling empty, and now complaining even more loudly, Tammy grabbed her boss's shoulders and twisted them, barely managing to fit them in her mouth. A few gulps saw her boss's head starting to enter her hungry gut.
Her boss was struggling, but Tammy had her by now. Tammy's only fear was that someone else who was working late would come to investigate. Tammy seized her boss's stomach, shoving it into her own. Grabbing her boss's hips, Tammy managed to swallow more and more of her boss. By now, her boss's struggles were serving only to push herself down into Tammy's stomach. Tammy eagerly grabbed her boss's legs, and with a few huge slurps completely finished the rest of her boss.
Tammy looked curiously at her huge belly, which was moving about violently. Tammy could hear her former boss shouting things at her, but at this point she didn't really care. "Now that I have some food, I can pull an all-nighter and finish your stupid packet." Tammy said to her stomach, not really caring that she didn't get an answer back. "And maybe now I'll get a promotion."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tammy's stomach shook violently, and Tammy burped, hoping no one else in the office heard her. "Don't even give my tummy problems, you know you deserved this." Tammy scolded her gut, as she massaged the huge mass in her belly. Slowly, Tammy burped out the rest of the air in her stomach, and the movement slowly was replaced by churning. With a hiccup, Tammy pulled herself up and sat down on her chair.
"She was good," Tammy groaned as she rubbed her belly, "But she's going to be hell passing through my system. At least she'll fill me up for a while." Tammy then cheerfully set to work on the packet, enjoying her huge meal.
Although she tried to work on the packet, Tammy's gut decided it would rather work on digestion. It wasn't long before Tammy fell asleep with a huge churning gut, still in her cubicle.
When Tammy woke back up, it was early morning. "Guess I'll be working on Sunday after all." Tammy thought as she absently rubbed her belly, "Ugh, she's still in there," Tammy winced, "I'd better hope that no one comes in here."
No one did, and Tammy spent a very productive day, using her boss to fill all her meals for the day, allowing her to work with no interruptions from the early morning to the late night. Thanks to company confusion, no one checked up on her, and she was able to conceal where her boss had disappeared to.
"Now maybe I can get her job!" Tammy though excitedly, "The only problem is, as they say, a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips." Tammy poked her soft stomach, then shrugged. "It's worth it."

I loved that last sentence. ^^ You really put a lot of effort into developing your characters. You're very good at making a character one loves to hate and another that you just want to hug and help through their suffering. ^^

Another good one I must say.
