Gertrude tries to strongarm Samantha into helping her out in the tournament and, failing that, begins to consume her, only to be interrupted by something that might be even worse than being rejected in a reasonable manner.

This is true. Plus barbarian base speed is increased by 10 when wearing light or no armor. :D
