"Plant Food"

 Angelissa smiled as she looked below her at the huge plant. The bush covered
nearly a hundred square feet, a mass of green tendrils and purple flowers
surrounding a deep green bulbous core. It was a carnivorous plant, as she
knew all too well. Soon, her winged body would serve the plant as a
much-needed fertilizer. She imagined herself dissolving away inside the plant,

looking for the largest purple flower.
 The flower was even more beautiful from up close. It had a deep purple hue,
like a royal gown, with a yellow lining both in the middle and on the edges.
The leaves looked soft and comforting, making the wide open flower seem like
a comfortable bed. Angelissa smiled as several pollen-covered tendrils marked
this flower as male. After a last look at the world, she nestled herself
comfortably in the middle of the flower, and allowed it to close around her.
 Trapped in the flower, Angelissa giggled as the tendrils moved over her,
almost as if to taste her soft sweet flesh. Pollen covered her naked form,
adhering to her skin. She felt her skin tingle and soften, and realized the
pollen was a digestive agent, priming the proces that would soon end her
mortal life in the way she loved so much. Suddenly she felt a tendril enter

 It was about five days later, and Angelissa had gotten used to the regular

plant had appearantly selected her for its lunch. Her knees were forced

were at rougly the same place. Gradually she vanished from the purple flower

Gradually, she passed through the hollow stem, into the plant's bulbous core.
 Her journey ended abrubtly with a plop and a splash as the popped from the
narrow chute and into a oval cavity partially filled with a clear liquid. She
laid down in it with a contented sigh and closed her eyes as a tingling
feeling spread all over her softened skin. Her beautiful wings were first to
dissolve in the acid, which softly gurgled around her. Her arms and legs
followed soon after, the gurgling increasing steadily. Finally her rump began
to dissolve, and blackness surrounded her as she passed away. The gurgling
continued for a while, until there wasn't a single bone or feather left of
her in the plant's stomach.
 The ogre stopped for a moment by the plant, wondering why it suddenly looked
so bright and beautiful. Then he spotted some white feathers left behind in
one of the large flowers, and he understood. Angelissa would soon reincarnate,
and Mr. Yum decided to wait for her.
