So...the description of the Bolas says it can sail through sand and stone as easily as it does through air. Can it sail through ships?

If so, I suggest phasing through the larger ship and taking it from within.

That's a good question (sorry I didn't get around to answering it until now). The Bolas can only sail through sand and stone, it can't pass through other matter or organic material. I'm sure there are still plenty of ways to screw around with that and drive me crazy, but for now you'll just have to behave.

After so long I thought this had been abandoned.
good to see I was wrong.
Okay, so I say we advance on the older battleship and try to catch it in a crossfire.
The schooner is the softer target and can be taken out after the larger threat.

You got a rubber chicken. Stretch it and then fire it at the bigger ship like a rubber band.

Also your pirates take both ships if possible! But of course start with the bigger one and then result your damage and casualties through and if the odds are in your favour take the smaller ship too. You can never have enough booty Har. Har!!

first move of the game!
there's the crossfire thing along with the ram and board (or phase and board) options, but what about simply taking stock of the bolas' guns, speed, and general abilities? according to the log entry, the bolas has this "ever-present aroma of decay that heralds is presence from miles away" so a surprise attack is unlikely or impossible. so i say we examine the bolas stats and see how it matches up to the negotiator class ship and form a plan from there.
