It watched the pair walking along the pathway. The male was taller, with a shaved, shiny head that reminded it of a billiard ball. The female had blonde hair and a gray sweater, with her hands in her pockets, head down as she responded to him. It looked ahead to the perfect point, and scampered along the sides of the path, preparing to strike. The male looked at just as the being leaped forward, a flash of metal across his throat as it collided with the female, knocking her over. The male gurgled in protest, blood spewing from the slashed side of his neck. The female was screaming. A resounding impact to the back of her head rendered her unconcious. Retracting most of them, a single claw was left out on the creature's hand, and promptly inserted into the gurgling man's forehead. Levering it back, his skull was cracked open like a cantaloupe, ichor trailing the path of the claw. It no longer resembled a billiard ball. Turning back to the female, it sniffed at her throat twice, then gently placed its fangs around her trachea and tore it from the rest of her body. Spitting the crushed tube away, the being lapped gently from the flowing lifeblood for a few moments, pink tongue flicking in and out, staining its mouth and lower face red. Sauntering back to the male, it reached under his head and planted all four claws from one hand in through the soft underside of the chin. A sharp jerk tore the lower jaw partially away from the rest of his face, and a few more slight tugs finished freeing the bloody mandible. Looking quizzically at the chunk of face now clutched in its hand, the being grinned and held the chin over its own chin, delighting in the bloody overlap of its own face. Gazing down at its newly acquired toy, the being decided to decorate the female, gently placing the chin on her face, using some of the strands of splayed out blonde hair to tie it in place. Licking its lips once more to get at some of the residual blood, the being bounded off the path to places unknown, sated for the time being.
