It's not electrical sparks that would occur because of metal banging together. Sparks like that require a dry environment. Scrape a shovel across a concrete sidewalk for example.

Actually, those aren't tank shells.
Based on their design, they're artillery shells.
Specifically, M107 155mm HE(High-Explosive) artillery shells.

Unlike most projectiles, HE rounds are designed to explode upon physical impact of ANY kind.
Hit one of these things hard enough and you'll be nothing but a crater.
