In the Inheritance Cycle books, Glaedr senses a ravenous aquatic beast and warns Saphira in time for them to escape. But what if Glaedr hadn't been there? Well, it would have been more entertaining fore us, at least :)

In the fourth one there's a giant snail that almost gets him while he sleeps ;) I always wish that had gone differently too haha
