Nefas, just eats people to sustain herself, she doesn't do it out of moral superiority or anything of the sort. The doctor (her elder sister in some deranged way)on the other hand, will punish people if harm ever came to nefas.

Norah, will through sheer arrogance and class warfare will do everything possible to make a persons life a living hell (even eating them,) Should they refuse give into her unreasonable demands. doesn't matter if its an object or a person she will see it as her personal property to do with as she pleases. so its best to simply never get on her bad side.

Hmm nefas is the nurse correct? What if she were to say... Become close or fond of a child? And what if say that child was taken from her and harshly abused before her eyes... What would she feel and or do at that point

Yes, nefas is the nurse. Everything is food to her,so if the child is still human, she wouldn't feel much for them.(For appearance sake she would act like a nurse and tend to their injuries though).. That is what i would say. Unless she intended to turn them at some point, or has already given them the "gift" which would ultimately mean they become a part of her, so their pain is connected to her. Yet they do not share her pain if she is hurt but they fell wrath, sorrow and anguish. Her elder sister (head doctor) and the doctors husband would be the ones to act usually forbidding nefas from acting during the day. if it were the afternoon or dark enough they would leave her to her own devices.

Nefas won't hesitate to eat a kid if they are "out-of-towners",though she does tend to keep the local children of the island off her menu 9as she needs them for her "network" to function).
