Hm, I was curious when you mentioned "dark and emotional" but it felt all around pretty heavy handed? It was well written but it wasn't very emotional for me. But I hope your nights improve!

Dang. Could you elaborate? I'm not sure what heavy handed means. I guess I just instantly associate pregnant prey with dark, but it's possible we have different criteria for what counts as dark. Or that I either left the emotional parts to be too vague and up to the reader OR was too upfront and blunt? Thanks for the critique. And the well wishes.

I really like the whole fatality vibe floating all along the story, how the pregnant woman plaid inside his belly but how carefree the pred remains. How the story emphasis on how she, and her baby, really are reduced to nothing but food, even though she was a citizen moments ago.  The idea that he passes by a family that could have been the one of the woman if he hadn't eaten her was a really nice touch too ~
