Brody is inviting Xander for an extended stay inside their body. Brody is a fluid puppy, and they love to absorb people and let folk wear them like a suit.

Brody loves to swap gender based on their whim, and a side-effect of this is a goo-like body. Basically their body is a bit like a latex body suit, hence a bit of shininess near the gooey tendrils.
