It's worth note that some species of fae are capable of reformation, at least while in the Realm of Faery. Nymphs in particular are notable for this. In such cases, no magical power is gained. However, reformation can be "blocked" with Naming magic. Fern (which, incidentally, is *not* the character's Truename, just the name she prefers for most day-to-day interactions) makes a point out of either torturing or tricking the Truename out of any nymphs she eats.

Vulcanalia: "Hmm, my fairies are innately magical, but also reform. I don't know if that 'no transfer' thing would apply though, since we function under different rules... well, only one way to find out."
Vulcanalia: "Assuming all available meals provide the same amount of 'magical nutrition', is there anything you favour in regards to the cosmetic/taste aspect food itself? Such as a preference for male over female, human or fairy, young adult over elder and something bigger or smaller than yourself. Stuff like that."
