Possible Choices:

A: Maybe he was going outside the long way down that Zephyr mentioned? If he was going outside, though, why not just go through the bug at the door?

B: He might also be in the bathroom, either using it or checking to make sure whatever caused all that ruckus wasn’t coming back up.

C: Maybe he was off exploring the other tunnels? You’d assumed the Zombies had cleared them, though if they were keeping ghouls as… eugh, pets, then maybe they had a different definition of “Safe” than you did...

D: But then you shrug. Maybe you don’t need him at all, you can handle some ghouls on your own, even outside your power armour. And if he’s already gone that way, you’ll catch up to him.
