The Firesnake jerks back roughly, letting gravity slide Gloria smoothly down her gullet. Gloria bulged through the surface of the snake’s thick scales. Her second, Warrior Zara, legged it as fasts as she could. When the Firesnake had finished ingesting her recon leader, she didn’t want to be within a mile of that spot. Those larger predators were renowned for having fast metabolisms and insatiable appetites, and being eaten by a Firesnake had a reputation in the village’s Scout Corps for being one of the more unpleasant ways to die in the field. Zara did not want to stick around to find out the hard way.

...unfortunately running away isn't good enough

It was worth a try though right?

Maybe it was, they could have just as easily given up though and have been good food

The background story was really nice. I loved that twist at the beginning where the huntress seemed to be the predator. And the pictures fit it nicely.
Though she seems to have turned around inside the snake on this page.

yeah - the rotation on that image is intentional.. way I see it, there's nothing stopping her rotating as she writhes, just slimy flesh to slip against, so I made her go tits up as she reached the bend... I don't really see it as a continuity break.

I am certainly not complaining about the view, was just a little surprised after reading the story text first and then looking at the drawing, that's all. Don't get me wrong, I adore this series.

Luck has nothing to do with it LordStorm... She's an adept huntress - nothing was left to chance.
