I redrew Rika design once again, I ended up hating the old designs despite me going "no, guys, this is totally the one! Definitive version!" Well, this is the definitive version, for real this time. Really, it's the most professional version of her I've done yet (imo)!
I mostly wanted to get rid of that "OC stink" that a lot of original characters suffer from. You know, I tried to avoid the cliches (which can work, but...) like, uh, multi-colored hair (black and red usually... hides early version of Rika OC), silver hair, red eyes, two different colored eyes, ridiculously flamboyant outfits, and other Mary Sue no-no's. The stink is hard to shake, I think most versions of her had it before. Stink gets stuck in the hair, real bad if straggly beards are involved.
She's a fire dancer~ Which means I had to finally learn how to draw fire (which I think turned out really nice). Her outfit is a kinda mix between a dancer uniform, a white mage, and some black mage coloring. Suiting, since she uses fire, heals with fire, and, I guess, dances. I really need to get someone else to write her bio for me, I suck at this.
I used heavier shadows, I really like how it looks. Makes it easier to see depth then the two tone thing I kinda got used to doing. I also moved her pigtail braids up on her head, I just couldn't get the lower ones to look the way I wanted. And she's barefoot because... I like feet.

Ayyy this is really nice! Love the outfit, and all the red patterns on it. Twin tails is a nice touch too, I think it's a really underrated hair style~ I really like the new digs! Great job~!

If you don't want to disappoint... Best thing you can do is the opposite of saying it's a definite change; let everyone know instead that it will change over time! X3 way better to be honest, even if it hurts at first. They'll get used to it. Those who don't/stop following you by it simply don't appreciate you.

You're right, it's mostly me just being self conscious about it. I really should stop saying 'it's the definitive version' though. I just end up looking silly later on~
But I do I stay happy with this version of my OC for at least longer than the last bunch :P

it's your character and you are free to change it as many times as you like.
and this new design is goddamn wonderful, the hair style is heckin cute and the outfit is great.
also, good work on the heavy shadows, and the fire looks really good.

It would be nice to stick with a design, just for consistencies sake. I really do think I hit it this time, even if I say that every time >_>
Thank you, I really appreciate it~ It's tougher working on design I don't already have references for, so that means a lot. Gonna put those heavy shadows to use again, along with any excuse to draw fire once more!

Nice, real nice. I like seeing all these occasional avatar updates, it's like a glimpse into other dimensions where things are just slightly off. So go ahead and make as many "definitive versions" as you want, they have yet to cease to impress. And never let anyone give you flak for your avatar the pic itself is non-vore non-lewd so aint nobody got a right to poo-poo you over having a cute loli as an image.
