It's not exactly uncommon to use pronouns before properly introducing the reader to the subject of said pronouns.

Reading further: huh. Expected a basic, silly (as tagged) vore-club scenario; got a melancholy reflection on growing up. Just another day on this site, I guess.

I do remember reading and liking that story (casual fatal vore is great!) but the direct inspiration was more just silly chat on discord turning into this.
