This was an older story I wrote for the Eka's Portal Writing Group back in 2013, but never got around to posting. I hope that some of you will still enjoy. Special thanks to  Garz for encouraging me to dust this story off and post it.

Thumbnail by  Kernac which he drew for this character and story. Thanks again friend!

This story is fantastic!

It's all about the emotions included therein - the characters are just /real/. You really are going on a ride with Nick - he makes a great main character, as you really get his feelings throughout. Start off rooting for him... and then comes the concern. Then it's less certain. But in all cases, very much believable.

It's then telling that the other characters also prompt that kind of reaction. Nick's father, for example, is comparably minor in this piece - but you can almost /taste/ the misunderstanding that he jumps to. Which of course causes a lot of problems, but again believably.

...and the use of particular language is great, haha. 'shrank back from the sudden outburst', 'glared down at him with a condescending look on his face'. Subtle enough that I missed it on a first read, but very well done ^_^

I love this story, haha. ^_^ Thanks for posting it!
