The Histscream emptied its bowels of all the remains, leaving behind a trail of steaming skeletons that fills a forest clearing edge to edge with its bulk.
Having emptied itself fully, it would resume its feasting.. This time though, it won’t digest anything it catches… They’ll all be joining it on its long hibernation.
Somewhere in the pile is Madeline’s bones.. Identification, of course, will be impossible. The mercenary has mixed in with all the other prey. Indistinguishable from any other person that had been horribly digested by the Histscream.
One of the shit covered skulls will be hers though, a disgraceful final tombstone for a great warrior.
In the World of Bones, it doesn’t matter how skilled, careful, or well armed you are. There is always something smarter, stronger, and hungrier out there just waiting to use you to fill its belly with live squirming prey…
...That thing is usually a Histscream.

Love reading the whole story set you post. Makes me marvel that there are any humans left in that world as they always seem to get wiped out by the natural predators that are shown. Keep up tbe good work

It's a difficult task keeping humanity not just alive, but thriving. Between the low male birth rate, and the predators. It is amazing that humanity is flourishing.
Their secret... Outbreeding their predators. They have the men fucking like bunnies all day and night. That and a predisposition for multiple births among the women, and there are literally too many women alive to support. thankfully, the orphanage removes the trash from the pack, and turns it in to a food resource.
With this balance, the predators can eat their fill, without exterminating the human race.
As a result, you have a society that is obsessed with procreation, death, eating food, and becoming food.

Ufff ufff ufff i don't know what to say, each story i like more the universe you are creating and enjoying the deaths but you has that little touch that make me feel bad over the poor preys.

I like to give the prey a little backstory, and personality.. let you empathise with them. Give you a window into their soul before I mutilate, digest, cook, gut, turn them into living eggsacks, poison them, suck them dry, labotomize them, or behead them.
Each story builds a little more on the lore of the World of Bones.
And each death I try to make both emotional, and erotic. If you're invested enough in these characters to feel bad when they get chomped... then I feel like my job is done.

Well your job is done then but the more interesting fact is this lovely world you are making could make a excellent D&D Adventure with hyper high risk, thanks for sharing such excellent story with us dear.

I've actually been running it as a pathfinder game in the RP forum here. (D&D 3.5 essentially)
And have frequently toyed with the idea of developing it as a survival videogame using the unreal engine.
(I even have a visual novel I was halfway through coding in Renpy and drawing before I stalled out without meaningful assistance)

I wonder how fertile are humans exactly and how fast do they mature?
And why no armor or weapons more serious then a spear? In a world where there’s a voracious monster around every corner, I kinda imagine humans will look more like this https://cs5.pikabu.ru/post_img/big/2014/11/16/1/1416089469_450093708.jpg
But then again, it will be far less fun that way.

Very fertile, but with similar maturity rates.
Resources are kind of difficult to obtain in the world of bones. Steel is practically impossible to mine and forge. What little there is, is generally reserved for nessecary things (including spearheads, which are an efficient weapon for minimal steel. Wood is also dangerous to obtain (given a lot of plants are happy to take a bite from you.) it makes the construction of more complicated weapons more an experiment, than a regular thing. Shields snd bucklers usually have little protective use acainst something that can eat you and your shield whole.
No black powder means no firearms.
And giant robots are beyond our capabilities, let alone that of a pre medieval society.
Hell, even cloth to make loincloths is in high demand cause they cant make enough.
(And spears are one of the most effective primative weapons because of their long reach for minimal material, and the ease of training for peasants)

NOW I remember whom local humans remind me of. Warhammer 40k orks! They as a species absolutely don’t care about individual suffering or death. No empathy, but they find such life very fun and their unique biology provides them enough to thrive while being like that.

They're a little more like sentient rabbits. They fuck a lot, give birth a lot... hide in their safe little burrows, and can deliver a mean kick that can kill an unwary predator... but make no mistake. Rabbit is delicious. Every predator thinks so... now if you'll excuse me.. I think I have to go draw a cute bunny girl doing something lewd.

What is the technological level of humans exactly? They seem to build cities with rather advanced infrastructure, running water and electricity. Yet, armed with spears and wear loincloth.
Posted by Riraito 6 years ago Report
technological level is roughly medieval... no electricity. refrigerators are evaporation style, and running water is provided by gravity, and aqueduct.
the lack of cloth is indicitve not of technology level, but on lack of non carnivourous textile plants with which to manufacture clothing.

Good thing I hid

It must've had a good reason to let you go then... hiding didn't help those farm girls one bit.

Underground catacomb
Posted by Riraito 6 years ago Report
Better be careful down there... not every skeleton was interred there... some were made there. Giant worms, and hungry things best left unspoken make the caves and caverns of the World of Bones their home... you may have traded one belly for another.

I crawled out after a snuff slave of mine was that on by that thing
