With a nod and a smile, you accept her invitation, following her into the darkened room which she thankfully illuminates with a flick of a switch at Doe height.  You engage in general small talk, asking her whether she had just come home and confirming that it is early evening and she had just been dropped off.

The room is a mirror image of your own, although with a little more clutter.  A vase of lilies sits on the table next to a pot and hiding a few knick knacks which are also scattered around the room at strategic locations.  A basic alarm clock faces the bed with a stool pushed up against the entrance to the kitchen area where she quickly heads to set on the kettle.

"Coco it is!" She says, pulling out two mugs from a lower cupboard and depositing them beside the kettle, giving you an opportunity to examine the room in a bit more detail, asking her about the flowers.

"Oh those?  I thought they would add a bit of colour to the place.  The landlord doesn't like anyone making too many adjustments."  Indicating to the rug in the middle of the cheap generic carpet similar to the one in the apartment you came from.

The kettle finishes boiling, and almost immediately she has you holding a minature mug of relatively watery but quite tasty and comfortingly warming.  The seating options aren't very well suited for someone of your size.  The table in the kitchen is accompanied by backed stools similar in appearance to highchairs, but she ushers you to the bed to sit.

"Sorry about the lack of seats, I don't tend to have any visitors.  Especially not - bigger ones."

Your desperation to ask questions seems to excite her quite a lot, very eager to answer.  She tells you a bit about the area.  Astral City is a city of two halves.  The side you are on is the western side belonging to the Coalition of Species whilst the other half is controlled by the Human Colonies.  She says it is "a bit authoritarian over there" but hasn't been across the wall.  The main attraction of this part of the city is the old city, created by the kistune and you can't miss it.  The university takes up most of the space there and makes it attractive to species across the whole planet.  You can meet anyone here.

The apartments are in the rougher part of town, but so long as you don't go outside alone you should be safe.  "There are plenty folk who want to take advantage.  Not all of them are desperate either.  Oh, but make sure you pay the landlord.  He isn't exactly forgiving."

Her company, ISET, provides most of the renewable electricity to the city.  The other company is the Ahmose Corporation which relies on excavated fuel.  She had been very honoured to get a role within the company but doesn't know much beyond the front facing administration directing visitors to their places within the fancy corporate tower.  She could bring you by to say hello.

Whilst you are talking, your ears pick up on more footsteps outside the door - having mostly been focused on whether Doe was on the hungry side - the padding stopping just outside.  Doe continues talking, apparently indifferent or unaware.
