The fact its also glowing an ominous red color and possibly vibrating (no one make any jokes! This is serious!) doesn't help make it seem less suspicious. If I were in that room, I'd assume whatever is in there is either supernatural and dangerous or radioactive and stay as far away from it as possible. Either way, I'd put all kinds of wards, seals, and chains on AND around it to make sure it never gets opened by anything.

Really? I've seen/played enough movies, tv shows, and games to know that is a VERY bad idea. To get what I mean, look up the bio for Soul Calibur's Nightmare. That is a perfect reason why you don't mess with anything that seems creepy, ominous, dangerous, or demonic.
