"...but as it appears, Cameleopardians can easily digest meat (as almost any herbivore, as I learned). So, excepted some digestive discomfort, miss Karkavolla wasn't that much affected and the business meeting wasn't delayed for too long.
It even was a great sucess, and we managed to get a very favourable deal for the importation of many new advanced chemicals my earthling partners had an eye on.
The cause of all this trouble was a lack of research on the part of the catering service partner : they used as ingredient an extract from a Camaleopardian plant that isn't just pleasant to them, but irresistible... and they didn't asked themselves how Cameleopardians actually eat. Well, let me tell you, they snatch whole trees from the ground and swallow them, that's how...
Hopefully for me, as the -unlucky- human member of the staff had asked for his resignation before to be digested, my office insurance will only have to cover the "ingestion" part of the incident. The rest will be covered by the Ttrucilian inter-planetary disaster fund.
I guess Maerr-Artell, the ambassy accountant, will scowl at me for some days, as usual...
