You kept using Giant and Jotnar repeatably, you are aware they are not the same right?

nervousvampire

in this world, they are meant to be.
I'm aware that the jotnar were not necessarily giants

Ok, I was just curious as a lot of people tend to make that mistake :D

no, I get it. the two are often used interchangeably even in the myths a bit. If I had to guess the reason it's because the Jotnar can be giants and have the most giants, as well as most carving, the Vikings had would depict them at least a bit taller then even thor who himself was already taller than most humans.

I've used similar logic for as this for my stories with the Jotnar of this word being at least six and a half feet but can be far bigger, while still having the title of giant more as a race name or nickname.

That is true, and I get it. Hope I didn't offend you, I just wanted to make sure you weren't part of the group who believe they were called Giants :D

no. not at all, ironically I was concerned my might have offended you due to my long explanation. if you want something to facepalm about, the sheer number of people on the site who use naga and lamia interchangeably.
monsters are a passion of mine so I wanted to get the jotnar/giant thing as right as I could.

here's a fun fact, Bestla's name is an actual female Jotnar name. She is the mother of Odin.

I know. I'm well versed in Myth, particular Norse, since I'm from Scandinavia.
