“I am Igrene, a guardian of Nabata, the place I call my home. Tell me, what need led you to call me here?”

”Oh finally! I’m so happy to finally see you! Yes, we do have a very great need for you in particular, Guardian of Arcadia!”

Igrene was a little confused. While the process of being summoned had implanted some explanations in her mind so she wasn’t totally lost upon entering a new land, she was sure the process of selecting a hero was random, yet the summoner in front of her, who was currently sporting a broad grin on their face, was insisting that they were looking for her in particular! She felt rather flattered, all things considered.

“Ah, I don’t mean to rush you, but there’s someone you’ll be working, heh, very close alongside. I’m sure she’ll be excited to meet you. She may be a bit...eccentric, but I promise you’ll make an unstoppable duo! Now come on!”

The summoner gave her no chance to react, grabbing her by the hand and dragging her through the halls of the Order of Heroes’ keep. Along the way, Igrene marvelled at all the different Heroes talking and training. And now she would be fighting alongside them!

Finally, the summoner stopped in front of a wooden door, and knocked on it.

“Ophelia? It’s me! I’ve got a surprise for you!”

A light voice shining with brightness piped up from behind the door.

“Just a moment! Ophelia Dusk needs a second before she is ready!”

After a few moments, the door opened to reveal a young woman, in some robes that did little to hide her body. The woman seemed to have no concern for her modesty however, as she was grinning widely.

“Summoner, could this be...”

“Yes, it is!”

“Well, if you don’t mind...”

“Oh of course! I’ll let you guys get...acquainted. You’ll be working very close together after all, hehehe.”

Igrene was looking back and forth between them in increasing confusion as to the nature of their conversation , and was startled by the loud noise of the summoner shutting the door behind them, leaving her alone with, Ophelia, was it?

She turned to the blonde dark mage.

“So, I am Igrene, and...”

“Oh! Hang on. Do you mind closing your eyes real quick? It’s for something to help us bond!”

“Er...alright...”

Dutifully, Igrene shut her eyes, and waited for a bit. Suddenly, she felt a wet warmth envelop her scalp...
