(at the same time, this is one of those things where I feel like I absolutely must note that we are not in the midst of an overpopulation crisis; people go unfed not because of lack of food, but because feeding them is unprofitable; the rabbit hole of Malthus ideologically points to exterminationism, which is both morally abhorrent and also like 100% suicidal, since mass extermination can only accelerate the climate crisis-it would require military force, and the military is uh... one of the worst offenders when it comes to that)
