Have to second the above comment. I feel like this should have got way more attention than it has. Not sure that I've seen such vivid descriptions of live digestion. I feel like I'm going to remmeber these descriptions now whenever I see something that skips or glosses over the details. (Whether they're hot or horrifying, I'm not as sure.)
