and occasional goofball

I'd like to thank  Alonelysoul64 for the incredibly hard work they put into visualizing Andromeda from nothing but mostly text descriptions for this piece!

I would be doing a disservice to their work if this was just uploaded with a simple introduction of name and what she might be used for.

So have a Lore dump in addition!

----------------
Name: Andromeda
Species: Sentient Binary Nebula, though appears as a Raccoon to others.
Parentage: A collapsed Binary star system
Age: Several Billion years old

Overview: The cold vacuum of space has long been thought to be unfit for life as it was known across the extant universe. It was too cold, radiation was too strong and distance between atoms themselves became either too great to make contact with one another or fell under the gravitational influence of other stronger masses of matter. It is under these conditions that Andromeda was born in the distant connections beyond the distant shrouds of the Large Magellanic cloud. A being not of organics as other species and not of silicates for the more robotic inhabitants, but of the two strongest gravities in the universe, tugging and dilating the very atoms between them into a potentially rarer but much greater entity.

Andromeda was born sometime during the reionization of the universe. A pair of supermassive stars had formed a binary pair with each other for millions of years, falling under each other’s influence before expiring. At the time of their deaths, each stellar body was less than 1 Astronomical unit away from each other. Upon their deaths, one of the stars collapsed into a black hole but the other was able to retain its form as a high dense magnetar neutron star. The intense forces at work between two of the strongest magnetic forces in the universe produced an otherworldly like strange effect in that their rapid collapses were so great that despite being ejected at near light speeds, most of the matter in the resulting supernovas were retained between the two objects. The black hole portion built a large accretion disk around whatever was not immediately consumed and most of the ejected matter that remained was captured by the intense gravitational pull of the remaining magnetar.

As the gravitational forces intensified, the distance between the two stellar bodies began to shrink further. In addition to this, rather than outright consuming its neutron star partner, the conjoined rotating directions saw the magnetar encircled and entrapped within the ergosphere of the black hole. The already powerful forces of gravity began to condense and shape the remaining matter shared between the bodies. Much of the matter that remained was pulled into string like fashion the closer into the ergosphere it traveled and remained while much of it closer to outer ergosphere began to harden and pack into more solid representations.
After billions of years between the various tangos of gravity and the intense dilation of time and space, Andromeda was born.

Description:Andromeda takes the shape of a terrestrial racoon. The various colors and pigments of her semi gaseous and solid “skin” representing their respective temperatures on the cosmic scale. Blue and white portions of Andromeda burn the hottest, while the darker brown spots tend to vary in the opposite extreme, being much cooler but somewhat tolerable for life. While often sporting no cloth, as she sees no reason too, occasionally Andromeda has adopted the attire of any nearby “talking” mass or life forms. In her most general state, parts of Andromeda may appear to be melting, but much of her outer layer is purely gaseous so such is normal. The harder or more solid/heavy elements lie within and help to form some of her more perplexing internal structures. While often a heavy shade of blue, Andromeda will often adopt a more beige or yellow coloring when feasting on mass or matter that is significantly cooler than she is, which tends to be almost everything.

Anatomy:Andromeda’s heart is a Magentar, a powerful fast spinning neutron star which packs the second most power gravitational forces in the known universe, short of a black hole itself. Her stomach is what became of the black hole in the pairing. The two work in constant, feeding each other energy and by time dilation, extending the life span of one another and thus Andromeda’s own already long expected natural life span. Miles and miles of stretched atomic matter provide her with “veins” of which serve to circulate needed matter around the various parts of her body to maintain temperature and stability of her form. Yet, despite her stellar origin, her rearranged form is structured much like a red dwarf type star, ensuring that much of her energy is constantly recycled, rather than lost into space.

Andromeda’s “lungs” are mostly solid, but malleable iron cores which store much of the heavier gases within her. This is not because she needs to breathe, but rather acting as source of occasional fuel as well as for any unfortunate traveler to habituate at least temporarily. The long term compression of the gas levels in this area does not make it conductive for extended stays, let alone the knowledge of their progenitor’s knowledge of such beings.

Andromeda’s digestive system is another significant portion of mystery to the nature of the universe. Her maw contains a rather plasma like organ mimicking a tongue, spread out with gel like globular collections of various liquid matter. She often uses a strong gravitational affect that is inherent to her as a stellar object to warp space time and pull in perspective meals while at the same time protecting them from her rather extreme exteriors. An intense, yet surprisingly temperate yellow hue which extends down her throat towards her stomach is but the beginning of strange. The compressed nature of the time and space regions that construct her throat in particular have formed an fierce region of negative mass which connects the entrance of her throat to a point in bubbled space time within the event horizon of her stomach. This in effect allows her any living beings consumed to effectively survive unharmed for a period.

When it comes the processing of food, Andromeda has 3 options. The first and not oft used option is to temporarily sever or substantially reduce the negative mass connection from her throat to her stomach. By doing this, the space time bubble within collapses and any matter remaining is subject to the full power of the singularity. This is not an oft used option as black holes radiate extremely slowly, so the accumulated matter is quicker but leaves her feeling bloated.

The second option she has is to allow the excess formation of modified strange matter or modified strangelets that can cede from the bubble of space time constituting a vague stomach area to mimic a sort of cosmic stomach acid. The nature of such strangelets will convert any matter within into more strangelets, of which she can then control bursts of release into the black hole portion in order to prevent such matter from overtaking the rest of her. Strangelets give their immensely

The third option and the most common, is to simply burn it. Andromeda is a star after all, so inducing thermonuclear fusion is a method which allows her to redirect excess heat among other energy into a productive manner.

Abilities: Andromeda’s principle ability is her master of space and time. She can pull just about anything she wants closer to her with little issue and often does to best preserve it for study. While she is also quite conductive to the generation of gravitational waves, Andromeda has learned to blend such production to better mask her locations. Any civilization as low as a sub type I can easily detect the waves she tends to produce, but the universe is so vast that she usually has time to make scarce to avoid direct observation.
Andromeda also can create and to a limited extent, harness strange matter to be used in an exterior sense. She does not however use this ability often, as even to her strange matter can be a deadly threat.
Andromeda has the capability to size shift and in doing so dramatically alter the properties of matter within her so that she isn’t destroying entire planets from Parsecs away.

Threats: Despite being able to influence the universe around her at a sub atomic level, Andromeda is not invincible.

Andromeda’s primary threat as mentioned above is the balancing act she runs between stability and instability. The danger of being overtaken by strange quarks and transformed into a husk of strange matter is very real. As such, she is constantly self monitoring in addition to making use of other stellar bodies, such as foreign black holes in order to ensure the conflicts of the varying states of mass within her do not reach critical levels.

Another surprising threat to Andromeda, despite some easier run ins are type II and Type III civilizations. Both types of civilizations can construct stellar engines and/or harnessing the power of their stars. This would dramatically shorten Andromeda’s lifespan, though not on the galactic scale and the rapid loss of such matter over such time brings about great pain.

In addition, other black holes are also a threat to Andromeda is she is not careful. After all, black holes merge, and half of her sentient form comes from galactic dust and a neutral star, which would very likely be destroyed in such a merger or careless interaction.

It clear a whole lot of care went into both the lore and the art here. Hats off to you Ace and to Alonelysoul64. A pleasure to read and see!

The best of efforts deserve nothing but the best of returns!

Thank you greatly. Upon a quick ready I realize I did miss one piece of the lore but I'll cover it again in a future upload.
