HAPPY VORE DAY, MY FRIENDS! Yesterday was my 5 year anniversary of making the leap to full-time vore artist and today is vore day?! Much to celebrate! Yesterday I released my newest comic "Poison Ivy and the Fantabulous Ingestion of One Harley Quinn" which was exciting enough, but today I'm sharing something even more special and dear.
7 years ago (holy cow), I drew an image series that would cause many to discover me as a vore artist and begin to follow me. A lot of people to this day still tell me that series is the reason they started following my work and is still one of their favorites.
I love this series too! But it...hasn't aged well.
I've learned so much in the past 7 years, that I thought what a better way to celebrate 5 years of this as my job and Vore Day than to reimagine this series with all I've learned? So that's what I've done! Today you're getting to see the first of a five image series, the rest will be released over the course of the next several days. And in the end, you'll be able to download a FREE hi-res PDF on my Gumroad. That's right, no cost, a gift to you all for all of your support over the years! (But if you'd like to leave a little tip to show your appreciation, you can. :P)
It's so cool for me to see where I've improved over the years when comparing these two images.
Firstly, on Fluttershy, I'm very proud of how my anatomy looks today compared to 7 years ago. I drew a lot faster back then, but I feel like that's because I ignored how a body is supposed to naturally look, move, and pose. I did things like hide the lower half of her body behind the claw because I wasn't quite sure how to do it. Her breasts are no longer just hanging sacks of fat placed too highly on her chest, but of a more appropriate size and touching the ground as they should be. In fact she's now completely level with the ground, whereas in the old one she's not. The way she's posed originally, she wouldn't be able to hold herself up. Overall, i've provided the poor girl with some actual bone structure and muscle tone, lol. Something you'll see that's evident in the upcoming remade images is that I was horrible at drawing both shoulders and hips.
Moving to her face, this is another area that I've spent A LOT of time practicing: expressions. In the original, her jaw is open impossibly wide, making it look less like a scream of terror and more like a painful yawn. I learned that white space and iris size are what creates that look of fear, so making Fluttershy's iris' and pupils smaller while narrowing their gaze better expresses how terrified she is, while also pinpointing exactly what she's looking at. Clearly I've also fixed her jaw lol, and attached her poor ear to her face. I've parted her hair correctly and allowed her hair to flow more freely.
And lastly, the dragon. Not only did I learn how anatomy works on creatures in addition to humans (you can now see how the claw has actual bone structure, scales, and weight to it), but you can see how the dragon is an example of how my composition improved. Instead of having the dragon's mouth fill the right side of the image, I opened it's jaws wider and had its tongue snake out further. This serves two purposes! The first is to make the dragon's "roar" more intense...the wider the jaws, the more intimidating it is...and second is to frame the image. The snout now covers what was a lot of negative space before, and while the lower jaw isn't as visible, the larger tongue and correctly drawn claw frame Fluttershy well in this image. The more smooth whipping of the tongue also helps create some motion to the image, whereas the original looked rather stiff.
Not sure if anyone will read this analysis, but it was fun for me to write! Several of my members have made it clear that they'd love for me to make some courses to show how I create my comics, share what I've learned over the years...and I think I'd like to do so! If anyone else is interested in learning from me, let me know. :) The more who are interested, the more motivation it gives me to create tutorials or a course!
I'll end my babbling for now and hope you all enjoy this image series as it continues to release over the next several days! I love you all and thank you, I couldn't have gotten this far without you. This is for you!!
All the best,
Nyte

^_^;
I've much enjoyed watching your progress as an artist since I first found your Flutters comic 5 years ago. One of the reasons that comic had caught my attention back then was that I had just recently watched the episode of MLP:FIM where Fluttershy confronted the dragon.
I, for one, am glad you're a part of the Eka's community. Your contributions to this dark corner of the intarwebz is appreciated by many here. Here's to five more years of artwork and growth!

Who'd have thought my little rendition of that show would've done so much, haha.
I'm so happy to be part of the community as well, and that you appreciated my contributions so much! ^-^ I hope to five more years and more of artwork and growth!
