Luigi 35: Bowser Eats Luigi?! By ZeldaNoVorsu -- Report

One last one of these because I couldn't leave out poor Luigi, could I? Sure, for a while he was just green Mario, but then, what was Mario but red Luigi back then? The only characters with spoke dialogue were the Mushroom Retainers and Princess Toadstool, and it didn't develop their characters much either. Like Peach, Luigi has also developed into a character of his own over the years. Heck, without him, Mario would still be Missing! Nintendo may like to make the butt of a lot jokes, but he is still a hero through-and-through. Courage isn't what makes a hero, heart is. Courage just helps, especially in Hyrule, but Luigi's got plenty of heart. Just look at how hard he tries to get the key to Peach's Castle in Paper Mario: The Origami King (which I kind of want to play as a DLC story). Even when it doesn't work out, which is every time until the end, he keeps trying! He gets knocked down, but then he gets back up. Whether he can get up from the titular event of this story will be spoiled by the tags.

I almost thought you were going to do it to my boy Luigi. As much as his purple rival deserves a spot in the spotlight, Luigi's still one of my favorites, especially the Paper version. And we really need more Luigaisy (Luisy? Laisy? Luiaisy? *shrugs*) in the games, they have such different personalities that work well together.

He got off the hook by his pred being Bowser, or well, King Boo's Bowser suit I guess. Either way, it's my first time writing Bowser pred, which was weird. Paper Luigi is a legend. How would we have beaten the last game without him conveniently finding the key's we needed in every world? We definitely need some more of... yeah, when I was writing this I was thinking about how they don't really have a good ship name. Neither do Mario and Peach though, really. Those two almost got married in Odyssey, but Nintendo decided nah, maybe in another 35 years. We'll stick to cheek kisses and cake for now... They're going to be in trouble when it comes to their tiptoeing with shipping when it comes to BotW 2 though. You told us last game that Zelda and Link are love, now we expect you to follow through.

I mean, to be fair, we would have found most of those keys anyway. He tries his best though. Imagine if they pull a Peach and have Zelda hidden in a castle for the whole game.

It's the thought that counts. At least he got to be in our adventure. They literally just did that with the last game though. And they're making her playable in the prequel. So if haircut Zelda isn't playable or at least a companion, I will swim across the Pacific Ocean, march into the Nintendo main office, and demand they explain themselves while literally dripping salt (water).

Oh, she'd make a great companion. Do I hear Spirit Tracks 2: Electric Boogaloo? And they should definitely add haircut Zelda as a costume for Age of Calamity.

Or a great player character, so we don't have to repower Link up again. She does say her power has dwindled in the secret ending, that seems like a good excuse to have gather heart containers and crawl through dungeons. Also for science of course. Zombidorf builds a bunch of train tracks to his new floating castle. A haircut costume would be perfect. I would switch between them.

Awesome! Was not expecting King Boo!

I figured I would throw a twist in there and have Luigi's actual nemesis show up with a little callback to the first Luigi's Mansion's final battle.

Oh dear...

I can just imagine the TTYD apologists’ reactions to you “daring” to say even a single positive thing about TOK.

(But seriously, do be mindful of that: they’re always on the lookout for somebody to lynch over such minute things.)

Let them come. I do not fear their closed-mindedness.

I love the Luigi's Mansion reference at the beginning, hinting that it wasn't really Bowser. I am also very happy that there is more Bowser fulltour (in a way) out here! I could hear just about every onomatopoeia, and I can tell you're a huge fan of the series!

I'm glad you caught that. While King Boo is supposed to be a twist, I wanted LM fans to have it feel earned. I had Bowser's dialogue hint at too by having him call Luigi "Baby Luigi" as opposed to forgetting his name. I think for all intensive purposes, you can call it Bowser fulltour. Only thing off is his personality, but otherwise its essentially him until his head falls off. I'm glad my onomatopoeia worked, I put the effort in trying to make it realistic. I am indeed a big Mario fan.
