This was a fun read. Got a little bit of a question though about this line.
"However, as soon as the mare got tired and her exhausted legs collapsed on the ground,"
The mare, who all day every day, kicks trees for a living. Got tired from kicking? Damn, that dog is patient.
Jokes about narrative conveniences aside, this is good work. I poke fun at something that tickles me a little but none the less this is really enjoyable.
Also to make this clear, this is no dig. Actively dumping exposition or doing something convoluted wouldn't have added to the story. Taking liberties with things is basically what writing is in its core form.
Need to add that, just to make sure, don't want to hurt anyone.

Heh, that's a good point that I should've realized and account for somehow. Honestly I'm sometimes pretty lazy with these details, though they are important to get right to really make the characters feel like themselves. So no worries!

My two least favorite ponies and yet i could not stop reading!! It was fantastic!
