A raptor of Dreadtooth's size requires alot of meat to keep himself properly nourished, which often means any poor unfortunate soul caught in his sights. Be it fellow beast, a traveler in the wrong place, or an adventurer trying to quell a 'problem', the raptor isn't picky on the source.
