Mint and Umiriko would be at the pool together, having fun all day long~! After a fun day Mint is gonna have one final dive, Umi nowhere to be seen as shi is underwater. Mint would raise her hands and wiggle her butt a bit before diving towards the water. Seeing a maw emerge from the water right infront of her...! The day ending with Mint finding herself inside a stomach sealed away within Umiriko~

But to answer your question it's very common for a abacus to exist in every Swedish pool spanning around 25-50m. So every time you swim to the other side and back, you move 1 to the other side. Then you count up until you've swam like 1km. Which is 20 dots at a 25m pool.
Now you know!~ Abacus' are secretly cool B)
It might be common in other countries too~ I just grew up with them existing at every pool :P
