The epic battle between the two stuffed gems concludes. Peridot was packing a lot of pounds, but she just doesn't have the combat practice that Pearl does.
Thankfully all that belly bumping stirred up something in Pearl, allowing Lapis's gem to get out. Some quick thinking has allowed Peridot to retrieve her friend's gem and make a strategic retreat.
However the war is not over, and I doubt this will be the last we see of Peridot.

Not gonna lie, I’d be happy if this was the end or near end of the story. If nothing else, Peridot & Lapis would live to tell the tale of the day Pearl devoured the Crystal Gems and all of Beach City~
