This is scientific and accurate I swear, don't worry about her brain, or how painful this would be if you tried, it's realistic I promise.
On a serious side note the ear really is connected to the throat through sinus passages, this is why we can pop our ears by increasing preasure in our nasal area.
This actually wasn't released a month ago, but that doesn't mind you can't take a look at my subscribestar!

The middle ear is connected to the mouth through the sinuses, but the ear drum separates the outer ear (ear canal and lobe) and the middle and inner ear... meaning her eardrum is probably ruptured.

THIS HAS ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD!
"We don't know catgirl anatomy"
BWAHAHAHAHAHA, WITH THAT YOUR LIFEPOINTS REACH ZERO AND I WIN THE MATCH!
In all seriousness, thats helpful info that I didn't know. It makes sense considering popping your ears ballences out pressure differences on the inside and outside od the eardrum.

Hey, a ruptured eardrum heals over time. She just can't hear from that specific ear right now is all.

Ahh, she travelled through the Eustachian Tube from the middle ear into the sinuses, and then down to the back of the mouth!
Er, from the middle ear... Oh dear, RIP her left eardrum.
