And so, bold if impulsive Newton sets out with his newly formed party, on the hunt of a fearsome dragon... well, on the tabletop anyway.
I'd intended to get a lot further into the tale in this section, but it got a lot longer than expected. So... rather than rush it, I'm splitting this adventure in half. I don't think you're getting short changed though. It's a solid 9K words

Nice ending there, a jarring reminder on case the reader forgets what the stakes are.

It felt like a good spot to cut the original segment in two. A mouse chocolate dipped and gone, while the rest are faced with not being next.

I continue to enjoy the character backstories and the general gaming setting! Arguments with online players, metagaming...it makes for a wonderful backdrop to everything going on.

Full disclosure I'm having quite a bit of fun coming up with some of the stuff the cats are on about. Wanted to capture that they're, roleplaying a game, while below the mice are fighting for survival
