Life has been strange for Barbara these past few months. First, she was wracked with awful headaches that felt like her skull would split in two. Next, her legs grew extra hairy, no matter how much she shaved. Finally, Barbara felt an weird pain coming from her butt, like she sat too long in a doctor's office. Barbara felt so discombobulated, but had no idea why!

Then, one day, Barbara awoke to find herself covered in pillow feathers, and the culprit was obvious: she grew big ol' horns overnight! Plus semi-opposable toes and a tail! To Barbara's shock, she turned into a real life monster, straight out of myth and legend! Specifically, she turned into a Creature of Leng, a species of goat people not unlike satyrs.

What's more, Barbara learned the secret of her ancestry: before she was born, Barbara's mother met their father, a merchant straight from the moon. He wined and dined her, and after a night of passion, skedaddled back into space! Barbara was born human, but the older she got, the more her lineage shone through. Now Barbara must cope with her new self, her new identity, despite not knowing the first thing about being an alien hybrid!

Luckily, Barbara had two people to support her: first, her wife Ellie, who as a Gorgon, knew all about hiding her secret from the world. Although this change surprised them both, Ellie's love did not diminish and Ellie taught Barbara everything she knew about the supernatural world. And secondly, through Ellie's contacts, Barbara met her long lost sibling, Nol!

Although Nol is rough around the edges, they care deeply for their sister. Nol taught Barbara all about the Creatures of Leng, of their lives on the moon, of their history and culture, of their mercantile ways. Nol taught Barbara how to utilize her innate magic for illusions, which Barbara is quite good at! Nol even accepted Barbara as the co-owner of the family shop, the Sivan Sibling's Store of Sinful Selections. The shop can teleport across the universe to sell artifacts, magical goods, and trinkets to aliens of all sorts, and still be home in time for dinner.

While Barbara's life hasn't gone the way she expected, and her mind still reels at all these new changes, she wouldn't give it up for the world. Barbara loves crafting illusions to entertain customers and their children, she loves exploring the cosmos and seeing new places, but most of all, Barbara loves the people in her life with every ounce of her heart.

In this drawing, Barbara is infusing a sword with illusion magic. The flame isn't real, but the harder the wielder believes in the flame and themselves, the more sword can burn stuff. It can even be used as a convenient (and very sharp) stovetop! How useful!
