Yet another commission from Damnitshuge.

In celebration of the news that Monster Rancher 1 and 2 are coming out of Japan in the form of Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX for the Switch, PC, and iOS this winter, I had this done. Granity, my favorite monster breed in Monster Rancher, showing off her large gut. But who did she eat? Lilim? Poison? Holly? Maybe Colt? Who knows.

While we don't know everything about Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX port (especially if anyone outside of Japan will get a physical copy of the game, as Japan is stated to be getting a physical version to commemorate its 25th anniversary), we do know that it'll have various QoL updates, new content, all glitches and errors fixed, re-balanced monsters, and so on. It'll also have an online CD database so you can search for any CD, both past and present, in order to generate a monster from that, since you obviously can't stuff a CD into a Switch or mobile phone.

But the fact that the devs actually listened to the fans and are releasing the game is a big deal. I mean, when does ANY company do that!? But it means that Monster Rancher may make a return to the scene, and if this game sells well it'll open the door for other re-releases of other games. This could be big. While Monster Rancher was more of a cult favorite outside of Japan, the fact that it's getting another chance to shine is quite important. This fall/winter will be a big one for monster training games. Anyway, thanks Damnitshuge.
