We have suffered a death in the family Posted 1 month ago
Hello. I am saddened to inform that, today, we suffered a death in the family. On this day the family pet leopard gecko, Emily, passed away. She was 28. She was our longest lived pet and was a gift from my grandmother when she was still alive and when I was about 8 or so (I don't remember too well). We are, naturally, heartbroken and the death of our little lovely lizard, though mom is taking the loss the hardest. She lived far longer than most leopard geckos and she only had to go to the vet once in her entire life. That's how healthy she was. Mom and dad have special plans for her. But you can bet we're deeply saddened by our little lounge lizard passing away. But she lived a good, long life. Rest in peace, Emily. You will never be forgotten.
On this day a dork was born Posted 6 months ago
And the world was plunged into eternal chaos and 1,000 years of darkness (well, it's really 962 but 1,000 sounds more ominous).

Joking. Sort of. Anyway, today is my birthday. We'll be breaking from tradition this time around for my birthday... because they're no longer offering it. Normally I'd go to on of my favorite restaurants to get a free birthday burger and hot fudge sundae but they've stopped offering it (largely thanks to inflation and dum-dum Donald's actions). So, instead, we're going to another restaurant that will give me a free appetizer and dessert for my birthday. Then we'll go back to my parents' place for cheesecake. So today is going to be a bit different but sometimes you need to change up the status quo every so often to make it more interesting. As for the...

My car has finally died Posted 1 year ago
Just like the title states, my old 2002 Honda Civic LX finally kicked the bucket. I took it to a mechanic last week and just learned today that it's dead. I was informed a while ago that it was on it's last life and I managed to squeeze as much as I could out of it. But it has driven it's last run. So I'm without a car permanently until we can figure out a new strategy. Only my parents have a car now and I'm basically stuck. It was bound to happen sooner or later and a previous mechanic mentioned it was on its last life. Now it's official. It's gone. Not much I can do about it. It had a good, long life and it did so much for my family and me. But it appears it has breathed its last breath and my family and I need to work out a new plan for getting me around. Especially since I have medical...

Another lap around the sun Posted 1 year ago
Yep, it's my birthday. Another notch on the ever increasingly dull blade that is my life. Today will be just like any other birthday: go out to eat, get a free birthday burger and hot fudge sundae, then go back to my parents' place for Oreo cheesecake. And, in a strange twist of fate, it appears the weather may actually play nice for once, as I've only ever had birthdays that were rain or snow. But it looks like I may actually get sun for once (there's a plot twist). Anyway, time for a nice day of family, food, and fun (hopefully).

New baby bird has come home Posted 2 years ago
Today I got my new bird buddy. My folks and I went out at 9 AM to pick up my new feathery friend. His/Her name is Zephyr after the Greek god of the west wind, and a fairly gender neutral name. This is because the breeder didn't do the blood test needed to determine Zeph's gender yet, which we plan to do ourselves later on. I wish I could give you all a picture of the little guy/girl but he/she is a bit scared right now so I don't want to make him/her more upset (especially after the ruckus he/she caused when I tried getting him/her out of the carrier and into the cage). But little Zephyr had come home and I now have my new companion. Happy days! Hopefully I'll be able to get a decent picture of Zeph when he/she gets more settled to show you all.

And the world was doomed. It caused 1,000 years of darkness to form. Well, it's really 962 but 1,000 sounds more ominous.

I kid. Maybe.

Anyway, today is my birthday. We'll be doing our usual tradition of going to Red Robin for a free birthday burger and free hot fudge sundae. After all, free food is free food, right? But with the added bonus of going to check out a baby green-cheeked conure that'll (eventually) become my pet (it's just not ready to go home yet but by next week it will). And... the weather is what I expected it would be: rain. What a surprise. Anyway, time for a day of food, fun, and family. And hopefully soon a new little companion will be with me.
