(After finishing this practice doodle, the brush I thought was the same watercolor brush I used before turned out to be incorrect. But hey, this still looks...good for being the wrong brush.)

Great job! Those are striking mawshots XP Hard to say which one is the best I think they both works pretty well. In term of readibility the first one is probably better but in term of the feeling of the texture of the mouth and tongue it's the second one. Mhh I might have a slight preference for the first one ^^

Yea it's hard to choose. I like the uniqueness of the thin lines, but it does mesh better with the thicker lines.
