The Dragon in the Lake By magicboy13 -- Report

This massive vorefic was inspired by a short story I read recently on FurAffinity.

Originally, this was supposed to be something like an unofficial installment featuring a character portrayed in that author’s work, similar to what I had done in "A Son’s Revenge". But, as I filled the gaps—as I planned and wrote and edited—the character and setting evolved into something else entirely. "The Dragon in the Lake" became an iterative inspiration that draws certain elements from the source material into a new world of my own design.

...and to think it began as a plot bunny that kept nagging at me!

Much like "A Son’s Revenge", I originally intended for this story to stay private in my Google Drive for personal appreciation. I’ve decided to publish it since the only guy I shared it with told me it was very well-written, even though he wasn’t a big fan of the fatal stuff. It was apparently so well done, he didn’t believe me **AT ALL** when I told him I didn’t write a lot of vore. LMAO.

Anyway, I was so enamored by the inspiration’s writing style that I tried to emulate it here. The biological processes are intended to be as realistic as I can possibly make it. We’re talking messy innards, strong flavors, constant movement, endless bodily noises, and all that “squicky” stuff. I also sprinkled some onomatopoeia as a part of this experiment—which I rarely include in the stories I do write. The disadvantage is that the same words end up repeating a lot; I hope that doesn't detract from the reading experience.

Both Albrecht and Manamir are my characters.

Manamir (Mir) is inspired after the original dragoness who gave birth to a plot bunny that refused to die, but with plenty of creative liberties to distinguish her as an entirely separate character. I spent quite a bit of work coming up with her name, but it’s derived from the Japanese “Manami”, which is a portmanteau of “Mana” (love) and “Mi” (ocean, beautiful). Quite fitting for an oversexed and kinky water dragon.

Albrecht Gutermuth (Albie), on the other hand… Originally, he didn’t have much personality and was planned to be an author/reader surrogate, but I had to give him a valid reason to seek out Manamir. Hence, he became a knight who’s overly attached to the past and tries to recreate it through influence, with his past being something similar to an Asari Justicar from "Mass Effect".

His sword Witrivach—from the Polish for "endure"—is made with ancient, near-ideal materials with a perfect affinity for magical enchantments. Both the pommel and blade are inscribed with runes that enhance its sharpness, durability, light weight, and environmental resilience. The rich history of Witrivach is palpable even to Manamir, so there might be something to Albrecht's habit of "consulting the metal". The amulet, likewise, is a family heirloom with magical origins, loaded with magic that combines a destructive AOE spell and a high-powered buff.

I'm not sure if I will continue "The Dragon in the Lake", but at the very least I have plenty of world-building material to work with if I ever return to it.

In the meantime… back to my non-vore works. I'm so glad I can resume work on them now that this plot bunny's been satiated at last. See you next time, whenever that will be!

Thank you for your comment!

It isn't my first time writing. I actually have a fanfic and an OG work on two other sites.

I'm honestly more surprised at how much I enjoyed writing this. I've actually gotten to the point where I can write at least two more entries featuring Albrecht and Manamir... it's distracting me, truth be told.

Hehe, I love dragonesses. :P
