Prompt #20 for Voretober was "Capture"! This was initially going to be an Elis story, but I couldn't think of an antagonist that wouldn't be retreading the territory of his previous two stories on such short notice. So, instead, Mairu gets to double-dip.
Whereas most of these stories tend to be pretty isolated on the timeline, so to speak, this one is very specifically a sequel to this story. It was either Akira going after a rando, or Mairu going after someone. I had an excuse to include a non-rando for once.
On one hand, I feel like it maybe cheapens the effect of "The Princely Shit", both by giving the farmer a name (no points for guessing his namesakes) and by having him get his comeuppance. On the other hand, I feel I worked in the prompt pretty nicely this time. In other words, fight me.
