Materia is useful for many many things, equipment, tools, various objects around the world. But for Saldryn, she finds them simply delectable. Unfortunately most major materia sources tend to be held by other individuals! So the dreadwyrm simply does the easiest and quickest solution and relieves the owners of said materia.~
