Not sure what this is? Here's a post explaining the series!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712411
____________
Most people were interested in trying to pursue the goblin bounty right away! And then we managed to roll a 1 when trying to track her down, but it wound up not really mattering in the end thanks to who our target was haha!

We've caught our goblin, what should we do now?

Also! It was mentioned in the comments last time that we should come up with a consistent cover story to tell people since we've committed to staying secretive about our past. Feel free to chime in if you have any thoughts on that! A few people responded to the comment in question but I thought I'd include it here so everyone could definitely see.

You can find Adrea’s character sheet here!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712418

Remember, you can ask any questions about the world (that are relevant to the current chapter) if you think you want/need more information about something! I'll do a 'live' intelligence check before answering if it's something Adrea might know.

| CLOSED - There's either a more recent entry available to read or I've already outlined the next chapter! |

Hmm... she seems pretty innocent & harmless, and I feel like Adrea should be at least somewhat sympathetic to Miram's situation considering her history & background.

I don't think we should eat & digest her. Let's level with her and tell her that we've been asked to find her and eat her, but don't think she deserves that just for stealing to survive. We still want our payment though, so here's our plan: Eat her, head back to Malva to show her the problem's been dealt with & get our payment, then head back to the woods and let her out. Once she's out, tell her she needs to get the hell out of town & find someone else to steal from.

There's a pretty good chance that she won't want to be eaten willingly, or won't trust us that we'll let her out. Let's try to convince her we will, but if that doesn't work, tell her that it's happening one way or another, and she can choose to make it easy or hard. If she keeps resisting, then we'll just have to do things the hard way.

Okay, I love this idea and support it. But I have to ask, is this something we can actually accomplish quickly enough to not accidentally digest her?

I'm assuming that we'll have to either anal vore her, or unbirth. Both of these options are going to hurt like hell perhaps, but they're a lot safer then the send her into the stomach and hope for the best one.

I kind of forgot about unbirth. In that case, I supposed the question is whether there’s a visible difference between an unbirth belly and a regular vore belly.

OsmiumOrchid

It should be noted that Adrea has 0 proficiency with anal vore or unbirth. It's still technically *possible* even if she hasn't done it before, but if unbirthing(or anal) is the plan it would definitely require convincing Miram to completely go along with it.

To your question: There is a visible difference between how an unbirth/regular/anal(while in intestines) belly looks here, but it's rather subtle and it's not like everyone will know how to tell the difference. Especially given that it's currently night, the odds are pretty low that someone would be able to tell without closely inspecting your gut.

Why do we need to convince the gobbo to go along with it? Is the intestine and womb more fatal in this world, or is it a matter of swallowing?

OsmiumOrchid

Posted by OsmiumOrchid 3 years ago Report

The latter--with no proficiency we would have no chance of taking in a prey that's putting up resistance with either method

OsmiumOrchid

Posted by OsmiumOrchid 3 years ago Report

Assuming we would go straight to Malva then straight back to let her out, it would definitely be possible. If they're healthy going in and left alone beyond the natural process of digestion, prey can easily last at least 20 minutes without being critically injured, probably more

All for this! Maybe offer to give her a few coins, silver or bronze, to pay for some meals.

Persona59523

Posted by Persona59523 3 years ago Report

Okay, first off explain why the halfing is annoyed with her, saying that she sells those fish in order to earn money and live. Then we'll ask if the gobbo is willing to work as we got possibly three options. First is having her work for the fisher halfing. Better earn what you're going to eat instead of stealing it. The second is working with the harpies sister. Don't exactly know what kind of job is open(perhaps as a mascot?), but hopefully they'll accept her. The third is trying to find a job around town in the morning since I doubt any business is still open.

ScarKnight

Posted by ScarKnight 3 years ago Report

Options one and three both seem like pretty bad ideas. The halfling seems irritable and kinda racist, not the type that would be onboard with hiring the person that’s been stealing from her. And getting a job in town is a nonstarter, being that there’s a bounty on her head.

Persona59523

fair enough. Just shooting some ideas out

RumiBelly

Posted by RumiBelly 3 years ago Report

A mix of everyone else's suggestions would be great. Get her a job, as Persona said, but not here in town. Bally is a self starter, and could probably increase her production if she had consistent help, so send her that way and tell her to say that Adrea sent her.
Then offer a chance to make some money right now, VigorousJazzHandz and Deska's ideas don't force her, we're not exactly hurting for an 8 silver reward, but she certainly is, and you can't exactly have a bounty out for someone who is presumed dead. Even if we only keep one or two of the silver for ourselves it's a profit.
Also thank you ScarKnight for asking that much needed question about accidental digestion.

I think we should try to get to know Miram better, ask her about herself, why she's here and in this situation, where she's from.
We can do VigorousJazzHands' idea but let's try to convince Miram that /we're/ the ones helping /her/ out by offering to go halfsies on the reward, even let her haggle. I'd say we try to do so orally, seems to me it'd be easier to stomach (haha) for both parties involved. I don't think it'll be dangerous for Miram, Malva doesn't strike me as the type to keep us overly long. Miram seems like a playful sort and might be more willing to go along with this plan if it seems like a fun prank.
But I'd like to deviate one point; rather than telling her to get out of town, let's offer to take her out of town, with us, as our new travel buddy! Adrea and Miram! Adventure team of a lifetime! She's so small, our harpy friends might not object to the extra parcel. And I think we could use a permanent travel buddy, well, as permanent as you can hope for in a world of peril.

VigorousJazzHands

I'm all for the idea of inviting Miriam to travel with us, but it raises an interesting question for Os to answer:

How are goblins generally viewed by people? Malva sounded pretty preduced against them (though it's hard to know if that was just because she was stealing her food) but is she an outlier? Are goblins widely viewed as thieves or worse?

She does seem like she'd be fun to have around, but it's worth considering if it's worth the negative attention it might bring. Not to mention the fact that our agreement with the harpies was just to transport us. They might not appreciate us bringing another person on this trip.

OsmiumOrchid

Posted by OsmiumOrchid 3 years ago Report

In Adrea's experience, it is somewhat common for people unfamiliar with them to be wary/distrustful of goblins or even look down on them, but not normally with as much vitriol as Malva shows here and in her bounty. She gets the sense that Malva is just very ill-tempered and her only experience with goblins has been Miram stealing from her... or might even just be kind of racist in general. They don't have a particular rep as thieves, to her knowledge, the prejudice comes more from their more "monstrous" look than a lot of races(sharp teeth, claws, discolored eyes)

VigorousJazzHands

Posted by VigorousJazzHands 3 years ago Report

Good to know! In that case, I agree with ProtocolARC that we should offer to have Miriam travel with us if she's interested, but we should double check with the harpies first to make sure that's okay with them.

I have to say I'm all for swallowing Miriam and then freeing her after getting paid, but let's give her some of the money that we earned! Also, what do we do if the lady doesn't buy it? Like...what if she wants to be sure that Miriam has been digested? That would be an awkward situation.
